groundbreaking of Holly Springs branch December 2017

Dear Members,

The phrase ‘coming together’ is interesting, in that it can refer to both a gathering of people, as well as the building of momentum toward the end of a project. I chose it as the title for this letter to our membership, because I want to talk a bit about both meanings.

First, in mid-September, we will wrap up two major projects that will directly benefit our members. Later that month, we’ll host a large celebration with our members and employees, and their families.

Holly Springs Branch

Construction of our new Holly Springs location is in its final phase. We’re putting the finishing touches on the branch, and will be ready for business sometime in the middle of September.

The branch will feature the full range of services you’ve come to expect from Coastal, including drive-up tellers that will provide 7am-7pm service, seven days a week. Many of you already know Derek Phillips, who will manage the new location. Derek has been with Coastal for 23 years, most recently at our Apex branch. He and his team are eager to introduce Coastal to the Holly Springs community.

We’ll have plenty of celebrations and community activities planned for early October. Watch your email for details of our grand opening events and perhaps even a special offer for you. We hope you’re as excited as we are about this much-anticipated new branch. Be sure to come check it out, and bring along your friends, family and coworkers to share with them the Coastal experience.

Digital Banking Updates

Next week, you’ll start to see communication from us about our next digital banking update. Our team has been hard at work implementing several changes, including a new Home screen, responsive design, more customization, and two new functions: Tap to Save and Travel Notices.

The update is scheduled to be rolled out the morning of September 23. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing details of what to expect, including previews of what’s new and what’s different, as well as what you’ll need to know the day changes take effect.

These updates are part of a long term vision for what our digital experience will become, and lay the groundwork for us to implement the awesome new digital platform that is coming out of Constellation Digital Partners, an endeavor that Coastal developed and launched last year in conjunction with several other credit union partners. Be on the lookout for my next Coffee with Chuck video, where I’ll share a bit more about it.

Coastal Family Day

I’ll be happy to celebrate the completion of both of these project. I’m also looking forward to simply celebrating Coastal with our membership. Last summer, we hosted Coastal Family Day, and it was awesome. I loved being able to meet members and see everyone having a great time together. At the end of the event, my boss, Board Chair Joan Nelson, pulled me aside and said, “we have to do this again next year.”

I like to keep my bosses on the board happy, so on Saturday, September 29th, we’re hosting another Coastal Family Day. This year’s event will take place at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary and will feature music, food, rides, games and prizes. As an added bonus, we’ll all get to stay to enjoy a North Carolina FC soccer match.

Watch your email and our social media channels for an announcement of how you can RSVP to attend this free event.

I hope to see you very soon.
