UPDATED May 22, 2017

Our digital banking provider has informed us that they will discontinue person-to-person transfers powered by PayPal at the end of July.  In preparation for this, Coastal is going to disable the ability to add new payees or schedule new payments after June 30.

The Person-to-Person transfers module will remain in Digital Banking until July 31, and members will be able to view past transactions until then. Any pending transactions scheduled until July 31 will be processed, but any one-time or recurring payments scheduled for after that date will be canceled.

Person-to-person payments will still be available within Digital Banking, using the Popmoney service. Simply log in to Digital Banking, click the Bill Pay icon and click the Popmoney link to get started.

How is Popmoney different than PayPal?

  • Popmoney allows for deposits directly to another person’s credit union or bank account
  • Popmoney uses ACH, so funds may deposit same day or up to 3 business days
  • Popmoney allows for higher payment limits than PayPal
  • Popmoney is not yet available inside of the mobile app

This change does not affect your ability to link your Coastal accounts or cards to PayPal. It only affects outgoing P2P transfers made from inside of digital banking.
